Statement
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in the East Bay and Marin County, California, offering in-person sessions in Richmond and Corte Madera, as well as online therapy throughout California. I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship distress, and the challenges of major life transitions.
My clinical work is deeply informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am drawn to EFT because it goes beneath the surface of presenting problems to the underlying emotional needs and attachment longings that drive relational patterns. Whether I am working with a couple caught in a painful pursuer-withdrawer cycle or an individual whose early attachment wounds are showing up in their current relationships, EFT gives me a framework that is both theoretically coherent and profoundly human.
With couples, I use EFT to help partners slow down their negative cycles, access the vulnerable emotions beneath their defensive responses, and create new moments of genuine emotional contact. I find this work deeply meaningful — there is nothing quite like witnessing two people who have felt miles apart begin to reach for each other again.
With individuals, I integrate EFT with EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am particularly interested in the intersection of attachment theory and trauma — how early relational experiences shape the nervous system and continue to influence how we relate to ourselves and others. EMDR has been a powerful complement to EFT in this work, allowing clients to process the memories and experiences that keep them stuck even when they intellectually understand their patterns.
I also have a special interest in working with endurance athletes — runners, cyclists, and triathletes — who are navigating the psychological demands of their sport. As an ultrarunner myself, I bring both clinical skill and lived experience to this work.
I offer sessions in English and Slovak, and I have a particular sensitivity to the experiences of immigrant clients navigating identity and belonging across cultures.
I am currently accepting new clients and welcome referrals from fellow EFT therapists. I am always happy to connect with colleagues about cases or consultation.
