EFT TRAINING SCHOLARSHIPS

The NCCEFT and SFCEFT organizations have established a scholarship program that has two goals: to bring EFT to communities of color in northern California and to support therapists of color. A number of  scholarships will be awarded; full scholarships to attend EFT Externship and a few full scholarships to attend Core Skills.  To qualify, candidates will identify as a therapist of color. Both pre-licensed and licensed therapists may apply.  Membership in NCCEFT is not required to qualify for the scholarships.

NCCEFT Mentorship Program

The NCCEFT mentorship program was formed in response to the lack of EFT trained Black, African American and Afro-Latina, Latin and Latin X in underserved African American and Latin communities. The program is a collaboration between the NCCEFT Board Of Directors and the NCCEFT DEI committee. The program is co-facilitated by DEI committee members, Denise Jones-Kazan, EFT Certified Supervisor Candidate and Angelica Hendrix, EFT advanced trained therapist.

The goal of the program is to train Black, African American and Latin ad Latin X therapists in EFT theory; Level 1 Externship and Level 2 Core Skills and 8 hours of individual EFT supervision. We also provide a monthly mentorship group for the mentees to given them ongoing support and guidance through their EFT training journey.

To Date there have been three Mentorship Groups serving therapists who represent Northern, Southern and Central Valley underserved communities.

Mentorship Group 1 ( 2022-2023)

Served 13 African American, Caribbean, therapists   and 3 Latin and Latin X therapists

Mentorship Group 2 ( 2023)

Served 6 African American therapists and 12 Latin and Latin X therapists

Mentorship Group 3 ( 2023-2024)

Served 11 African American therapists, Afro-Latina and 8 Latin and Latin X therapists

In total 53 African American and Latin and Latin X therapists completed their trainings.

Post training, the NCCEFT mentorship Program continues to give back to the NCCEFT community with 5 mentees having served on the NCCEFT Board and 4 are currently still serving in positions of leadership on the board. 3 mentees are currently serving on the NCCEFT DEI committee and are strong members of leadership on that committee as well.

To date 1 mentee is now a certified EFT therapists and many are in active supervision working toward the goal of certification and furthering their EFT trainng.

Through the facilitation of each mentorship group, and the subsequent established safe space for Black, African American and Latin and Latin X therapists to comfortably learn about and lean into the model,  recruitment has continued to expand and that has prompted more Black, African American and Latin and Latin X therapists to want to join the NCCEFT community.
